What are the responsibilities and job description for the Athletic Director/Assistant Principal position at High School?

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and promote the development of all head coaches and activity sponsors
- Foster school pride, teamwork, and leadership through participation in athletics and activities.
- Align athletic and activity program evaluation and planning with comprehensive school improvement goals
- Encourage and instruct athletes, students, coaches, parents, and fans in fair competition and good sportsmanship
- Oversee supervisory, disciplinary, and citizenship policies applicable to student athletes and activity participants
- Assist head coaches in resolving student or parent concerns regarding athletic and activity programs
- Supervise and coordinate high school athletic contests and activities and collaborate with the junior athletic director regarding the same
- Annually complete evaluations for all head coaches and sponsors at the conclusion of the season and make personnel recommendations to the high school principal and superintendent
- Arrange for all required training of coaches and sponsors
- Collaborate with coaches from each sport and activity to provide the superintendent a yearly program budget
- Arrange game attendants and officials
- Manage and deposit gate money according to district policies and procedures.
- Oversee athletic and activity purchase order processes
- Establish contracts for all interscholastic contests, including completing all forms and reports as stipulated by interscholastic activity agencies
- Collaborate with the public relations director to promote student-athletes and school events through digital channels.
- Collaborate with the maintenance director regarding the maintenance and improvement of athletic facilities
- Collaborate with the transportation director regarding travel associated with athletic and activity events
- Schedule the use of facilities by community groups and organizations
- Act as a liaison with other athletic directors and youth athletic organization leaders
- Other duties as assigned by the high school principal
Must hold an master’s degree or higher in educational leadership or similar degree. Must hold or obtain Missouri administrator certification.
