The Guadalupe Centers Charter Schools serves 1600 students from PreK-12 and is a free, open-enrollment public charter school. Over 92% of our students are Latinx. Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced individual to join our team as an Assistant Wrestling Coach. As an Assistant Wrestling Coach, you will play a vital role in helping students develop their wrestling skills and fostering a positive and competitive team environment. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young athletes and contribute to their growth and success.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Coach in planning and organizing daily training sessions for the wrestling team
- Help athletes improve their technical skills, physical fitness, and overall performance
- Provide individualized coaching and feedback to team members during practices and competitions
- Assist in developing game strategies and analyzing opponents' strengths and weaknesses
- Support the Head Coach in supervising team members during training and competition
- Mentor and motivate student-athletes, promoting teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship
- Maintain the safety and well-being of team members at all times
- Contribute to the development of young athletes' character and leadership skills
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- Previous experience as a wrestler or wrestling coach at the high school or college level
- Strong knowledge of wrestling techniques, rules, and strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively connect with student-athletes and their parents
- Passion for working with young athletes and helping them reach their full potential
- Flexible schedule to accommodate practices, competitions, and travel as required
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a coaching team and support the vision and goals set by the Head Coach
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to traverse various athletic grounds and facilities.
- Prolonged periods of standing or walking.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
