What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Girls Basketball Coach position at High School?
The Diamond R-IV School District is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Girls Basketball Coach to lead our program for the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in coaching, a passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the court, and the ability to foster a positive and competitive team culture.
Responsibilities:

Plan and lead all aspects of the girls' basketball program

Develop and implement practice plans, game strategies, and skill development

Foster sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth among student-athletes

Coordinate with school administration, athletic staff, and parents

Ensure compliance with school and state athletic regulations
Qualifications:

Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school level

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
-
Ability to mentor and motivate student-athletes

Knowledge of basketball rules, strategies, and training techniques
Applicant must meet the requirements of MSHSAA By-Law 3.1.5:
1. A professional teacher certificate or NFHS fundamental of coaching course passed prior to coaching.
2. Successful completion of a Sports First Aid course prior to coaching and renewed every two years.
3. Successful completion of CPR/AED training prior to coaching and renewed every two years.
4. Background check including sex offender’s registry clearance prior to coaching.
5. Successful completion of a concussion in sports course, and review of current concussion information yearly.
6. Successful completion of the MSHSAA Sport-Specific Online Rules Review each season.
