POSITION TITLE: High School Counselor
QUALIFICATIONS: Arkansas Secondary Counseling License
REPORTS TO: High School Principal
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 205 days with benefits provided according to Siloam Springs School Board policies.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Counsel students to meet their academic, personal/social, and career planning needs
- Scheduling/Transcripts
- Working knowledge of e-school and basic computer skills
- Willingness to communicate and work with school leadership team
- Be an advocate for students in working with parents and teachers.
- Willingness to work with counseling team on projects (CAP, uplink mentoring, online learning, scholarships etc. )
- Abide by the National Code of Ethics
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations.
- Attend meetings and performs duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
- Serve on committees as assigned.
- Remain current on instructional practices in education.
