The High School at FRCS is populated by 360 students and 36 talented and dedicated teachers and classroom staff. The FRCS course catalog represents our commitment to providing rigorous, varied, robust learning for all students, driven by teachers' and students' strengths and interests. Job Summary:

Teaches subject matter and skills to all students, which will contribute to their development as mature, knowledgeable, and responsible learners. Candidates should be able to demonstrate mastery of subject knowledge, common core state standards, a proven ability to manage a classroom, the desire and ability to work up to the standards of a high-performing team, and an entrepreneurial spirit and approach to teaching.



Responsibilities:

The successful candidate for this position will:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the state and school district curriculum and academic standards; including knowledge of the ways in which learning takes place and the appropriate levels of cognitive, social, and emotional development for adolescents;
  • Establish a respectful environment of a diverse population of students, developing a classroom learning environment in which each child has a positive, nurturing relationship with caring adults and other children;
  • Facilitate learning for all students using a variety of instructional methods, to provide students with opportunities to develop critical thinking and problem solving skills, encourage exploration of ideas, and  develop leadership qualities;
  • Reflect on teaching practices, analyzing student learning, development, and growth and apply what is learned  to improve instruction;
  • Demonstrate leadership, advocate for the school and it’s students and exhibit high ethical standards;
  • Take responsibility for student academic growth using a variety of assessments and ongoing improvement of instructional practice;

  • Maintain high ethical standards, legal responsibility, and confidentiality
  • Demonstrated committment to anti-bias, anti-racist education practices 

 Qualifications- Required:

  1. Education:  Hold a Bachelor’s dgree
  2. Teaching License is not required, must pass MTEL Exams within 1 year of hire
  3. Candidates are subject to background checks including, CORI clearance, and fingerprinting
  4. Current authorization to work in the United States - Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment.

Qualifications- Preferred:

  1. Education: Hold a Master’s degree
  2. Hold a Massachusetts Teaching License in the appropriate content area and hold an SEI endorsement
  3. Experience working in an urban school district



This position is part of the FRCSTA Collective Bargaining Unit. Salary commensurates with years of professional service in a school and educational attainment. Benefits offered include, health, dental, tuition reimbursement, 2 personal days, 9 sick days, 403b with match.

Salary : $50,000
