Harlan Community School District is seeking a dedicated and dynamic High School Language Arts Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop strong reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking skills while fostering a love for literature and effective communication. Candidates with a foreign language endorsement are highly encouraged to apply, as the ability to teach an additional language would be a valuable asset to our students and school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging lessons aligned with district and state standards in English Language Arts.
- Foster student literacy through reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills development.
- Utilize diverse instructional strategies to meet the needs of all learners.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing meaningful feedback and support.
- Encourage a love of literature, writing, and effective communication.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administrators to support student learning.
- If applicable, provide instruction in a foreign language to enhance students’ language acquisition opportunities.
