Job Description
TITLE: Paraeducator for Stage Crew
REPORTS TO: Director of Student Support Services and Building Principals
JOB GOAL:
Provide support for a student(s) with disabilities during Stage Crew activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possess a two-year or four-college degree graduate
- Possess a current CPR Certified (First aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
- Possess the ability to work with children with disabilities
- Possess the ability to work cooperatively with others
- Possess the ability to communicate with adults and children
- Possess excellent writing skills
- Possess the ability to learn about the characteristics of specific disabilities
- Possess the ability to learn and be trained a positive behavior support plan
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for assisting a student(s) with special needs during Stage Crew events.
- Responsible for supporting the student(s) with a positive behavior support plan.
- Encourage the student(s) to engage and participate socially with peers in the extra-curricular activity
- Encourage the student(s) to perform tasks directed by the facilitator of the extra-curricular activity.
- Responsible for effective and appropriate communication with students and staff.
- Encourage independence of students when deemed appropriate dependent on the requirements of the activity.

TRAINING PROVIDED:
Training will occur through the classroom teacher of the High School Learning Support with a Functional Skills Component or if necessary through the Student Support Services if the candidate for the position has not been previously trained to meet the needs of the student(s) with disabilities.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary, work schedule and other conditions of employment are to be in accordance with the South Fayette School District salary schedule and applicable policies.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the
applicable policies of the South Fayette School District.
