The Fordland R-III School District is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Process Coordinator for the 2025-26 school year. The District is comprised of approximately 600 K-12 students and is located 15 minutes east of Springfield, Missouri. For the 2025-26 school year, the District will have a 4-day school calendar with 150 Student contact days and 160 Teacher contact days.

 

TITLE: Process Coordinator

 

SUMMARY: The Process Coordinator will be responsible for supervision of the special education process from referral, appropriate identification, provision of services, IEP development, and placement to ensure appropriate identification and placement of students with disabilities and district compliance with state and federal requirements for implementation of the Individuals with Disabilities Act, (IDEA) per district policies and procedures. The Process Coordinator should possess great people skills, and adaptability, be responsible, dependable, detail-oriented, and a self-starter. This position will include 2-3 sections of teaching. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Master’s Degree or higher
  2. Valid special education teaching certificate from DESE
  3. Minimum of two years teaching experience in Special Education

 

REPORTS TO: Building Principals

JOB GOAL: To lead the Special Education department and programs that provide support to students and schools.

 

  1. Supervise the special education process of referral, placement, provision of services, appropriate identification and placement of students with disabilities, and district compliance with local, state, and federal requirements for special education. 
  2. Establish and maintain effective communication with all staff members and outside agencies as related to students, programs, co-located services, multi-agency and grant opportunities, or professional organizations.
  3. Collaborates with district administrators and directors along with other members of the leadership team for the purpose of aligning students’ and schools’ support.
  4. Supervises and coordinates special programs for students aged 3-21 in compliance with existing state and federal regulations (e.g., special education, Section 504, early childhood).
  5. Keeps informed of all legal and compliance requirements and provides leadership in establishing new programs and developing an improved understanding of existing programs.
  6. Collaborates with the Central Office to oversee the budget for all special services programs including special funds for special education, early childhood special education, High Need Fund, Medicaid direct billing, and SDAC.
  7. Collaborates with the Superintendent's leadership team for program development and alignment.
  8. Provides professional development and evaluations to special services staff.
  9. Coordinates with building principals in recruitment, selection, and recommendation for the hiring of special services staff.
  10. Able to analyze data to monitor program effectiveness monitor caseloads and allocate special education resources. Attends 
  11. Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned by building principals.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to be mobile within and between school buildings.
