We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Computer Science Teacher for grades 7-12 to join our teams at Lakeside High School and Lakeside Junior High School. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore the world of technology, coding, and problem-solving while preparing them for a technology-driven future.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, hands-on lessons in Computer Science aligned with curriculum standards.
- Teach foundational and advanced topics such as programming (Python, Java, or similar), algorithms, data structures, web development, robotics, or other related subjects.
- Foster critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration in the classroom.
- Incorporate real-world applications of Computer Science to connect with students’ interests.
- Develop assessments to measure student progress and understanding.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and integrate them into the curriculum.
- Mentor students in extracurricular activities such as coding clubs, hackathons, or robotics competitions.
- Maintain communication with students, parents, and colleagues to support student success.
- Collaborate with the school community to develop cross-curricular projects.
Applicants must hold a current Arkansas teaching certificate. Any applicant who holds an out-of-state teaching certificate must provide documentation showing they have started reciprocity procedures as required by the Arkansas Department of Education.
Salary ranges from a minimum ($51,000) to a maximum ($73,311) - based on the 2024/25 salary schedule for a 190 day contract. Salary is based on experience. A complete salary schedule can be found on our school website.
