What are the responsibilities and job description for the Software Engineering and Web Development Instructor position at High School?
Our instructors work to change the world, one life at a time, by helping students reach their dreams through education. The MCCC is looking for a skilled software engineering and web development person ready to share their expertise and industry knowledge with the next generation of technicians. The qualified candidate will develop and teach all phases of the program curriculum, monitor and evaluate student progress, and maintain student records in accordance with accreditation standards. The passionate aspirant will recruit support from business and industry to develop job placement opportunities for graduates.
STARTING DATE: July 1, 2025
SALARY: Appropriate placement on the Teachers' Salary Schedule, commensurate with experience and education, ranging from $48,495.00 to $75,000.00 annually.
REPORTS TO: Principal or Designee

WORK-WEEK/YEAR: 184 days per year
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Valid Ohio teaching license or qualify for career technical licensure (140200 Business Information Systems). Baccalaureate in Information Technology or a minimum of five years working in a related field. Demonstrated ability to work on a team. Effective written and oral communication skills. Ability to build rapport with many stakeholders. Strong organizational skills. Desire to motivate and assist young people in an educational setting. Willingness to work with students of varying ability levels.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Experienced in Software Engineering and Web Development with expertise in project management and Agile methodologies. Proficient in object-oriented programming and languages such as JavaScript, Typescript, Python, Java, C#, and C . Familiar with mobile app development and web frameworks like Angular, Vue, and ASP.Net Core.
Strong background in database management, with hands-on experience in both relational (SQL) and non relational (NoSQL) databases. Familiar with computer modeling and game development tools. Comfortable using GitHub and various IDEs.
Conversant in business operations and related IT disciplines, including device configuration, OS fundamentals, and network administration. Fluent in Microsoft Office products, experienced in integrating Al into educational curricula and using learning management systems. Industry certifications and career-technical center experience are a plus.
