Director of HTH District Intern and Induction Programs

HTH is seeking to fill the role of Director of HTH District Intern and Induction Programs. We will be considering both internal HTH candidates and external candidates for this role.
Reports To: Director, Teacher Center
FLSA Classification: Exempt, 220 days
Full Time/Part Time Status: Full-Time (40/hours week)
Regular/Temporary: Temporary 2024/25 School Year
Salary: Framework C, Step 56, $87,527 - $100,535

Description of Role:
• Work directly under the Director of the Teacher Center to collaborate with the Credentialing team, HTH GSE, and HTH leadership to provide vision and leadership for teacher education programs that are equitable, personalized, and based on constructivist pedagogies that encourage reflection, dialogue, and multiple perspectives
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Intern program
• Identify and support intern program faculty with planning, teaching, and reflecting on courses
• Support intern program participants through advisement, classroom visits, and coaching conversations
• Support vision and logistics for the intern program
• Teach at least one intern program course
• Support HTH intern program compliance with CTC requirements: reporting, accreditation visits, and program alignment with CA TPEs
Induction program
• Lead, plan and facilitate Induction meetings and Celebration of Learning
• Support Induction coaches with planning and facilitation of monthly Induction meetings
• Select and train induction coaches
• Lead HTH induction program compliance with CTC requirements: reporting, accreditation visits, and program alignment with California Standards for the Teaching Profession
• Lead and conduct outreach and marketing for induction programs across San Diego County and California
Mentor program
• Work with school directors to identify mentors for Intern and Induction program participants
• Support the professional development of mentors through mentor orientation and mentor workshops
• Ensure that mentors comply with CTC requirements (i.e. weekly meetings and classroom observations)
• Lead mentor training sessions
The ideal candidate for this role has at least eight years of experience teaching in a K-12 setting, has shown leadership with colleagues, has facilitated adult learning experiences, has demonstrated a commitment to equitable, personalized, and student-centered learning, has excellent interpersonal skills, and communicates ideas clearly and effectively. Requirements
• Valid CA Clear teaching credential
• Master's degree in education or a related field
• 5 years of classroom teacher and/or education specialist experience
• Experience teaching adult learners in the teacher preparation field
Preferred Requirements
• Valid CA Clear teaching credentials (6-12 grade Math/Science preferred)
• 8 years of classroom teacher and/or education specialist experience
• 2 years serving as an Induction Coach for an accredited California Teacher Induction program
• 2 years as an instructor for CA-accredited Teacher Preparation Programs
• 3 years of experience mentoring new teachers Experience supporting CalTPA completion
• California administrative services credential or the willingness to complete a California Administrative Services Credential Program
Salary Range- $87,527- $100,535
Start Date- July 1, 2025
