JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: HHES Title I Teacher
JOB: To provide supplemental support in reading and/or math to students who are at risk of not achieving state standards.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree, New Hampshire Teacher Certification, Teaching experience preferred.
REPORTS TO: Building principal or designee and Assistant Superintendent
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and implement lesson plans in conjunction with the classroom teacher based on the five reading components (phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and text comprehension) and Math based on the CCSS.
Coordinate and consult on a regular basis with the classroom teachers, specialists and supervisor regarding student's performance.
Offer input to classroom teacher regarding establishing learning goals and objectives.
Diagnose individual learning needs, assess progress, and share findings with classroom teacher.
Evaluate instructional effectiveness of learning activities.
Choose and/or design appropriate materials and resources for the learning environment.
Establish appropriate groups based on ability level according to Title I guidelines.
Effectively use software applications used by Title I students as an instructional and assessment tool.
Coordinate schedules with classroom teachers and specialists.
Communicate with parents through informational meetings, newsletters, conferences, emails, and/or by phone contact.
Organize and facilitate a family information night.
Involve parents by assisting with implementing in-home activities.
Meet with the Title I Director, Building Principal and Director of Student Services as needed.
Maintain required student records for Title I grant purposes, which include: permission slips, rosters, participation logs, reading incentive logs and exit letters.
Select appropriate books and supplies for the effective implementation of the program.
Complete all supplemental paperwork as required by Title I regulations.
Be available for evening parent outreach event.
Perform other such duties as may be required to fulfill responsibilities of this position.
