What are the responsibilities and job description for the Specialized Accounts Executive position at HighCom Armor?
The Specialized Accounts Executive plays a critical role in the management of “specialized partner accounts”, servicing “direct to HCA” customers, and various eCommerce platforms. SAE works closely with Government Solutions, customer service, marketing, and sales, to ensure designated critical accounts are fully serviced, manage inbound leads, and strengthen relationships with [Ohio] law enforcement agencies, fire departments, and security professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage and service “specialized” accounts
- Build relationships with new clients while helping to cultivate relationships with existing strategic partners.
- Proactively identify and develop new sales opportunities through outreach to law enforcement agencies, fire departments, and military professionals.
- Conduct outreach campaigns, including phone calls, emails, and follow-ups, to nurture relationships and increase product adoption by Ohio Law Enforcement Officers and departments, Fire/EMS, and Security Professionals.
- Manage inbound sales leads from the website, email, and phone inquiries, assessing customer needs and providing quotes and technical support to ensure quality sales experience.
- Travel in/around State of Ohio to service customers and introduce HCA products to “new” markets (15%).
- Educate customers on various “Grant Programs”.
- Collaborate with Marketing on focused materials to support SAE activities.
- Maintain a personal sales pipeline, focusing on converting inquiries into sales.
- Work closely with HCA GSA Contract and contract administrators, ensuring growth, utilization, and relevant data.
- Service HighCom showroom “walk-ins”.
2. Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with public safety professionals, ensuring customer trust and product satisfaction.
- Identify “sales continuum” from one (1) customer to the whole of their force.
- Provide support to Ohio law enforcement agencies and fire departments, ensuring they understand HighCom Armor’s product benefits and purchasing process.
- Assist in post-sale engagement, including follow-ups, reorders, and customer feedback collection.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to “Specialized Accounts”, providing product recommendations, pricing guidance, and answering inquiries. Consult VP of Government Strategies on projects and orders above a pre-set amount.
3. Collaboration & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with Customer Support Representatives to ensure ”Specialized Accounts case resolution.
- Collaborate with Marketing to refine messaging, sales collateral, and lead nurturing campaigns.
- Support Marketing with content development, as directed by VP-Government Solutions.
- Provides follow up on inquiries from the website and other channels
4. CRM & Data Management
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in Salesforce and NetSuite, tracking all interactions, sales activities, and lead progress.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including conversion rates, response times, and customer engagement metrics.
- Generate reports on sales performance, customer inquiries, and pipeline development to inform strategy adjustments.
- Maintain accurate records regarding GSA, and any additionally tasked eCommerce programs.
5. Process & Sales Optimization
- Develop email templates, call scripts, and follow-up sequences to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
- Identify opportunities to improve the lead-to-sales process, ensuring customers receive faster and more personalized support.
- Close [complete the sale] "closing" i.e. the final step of a sales process in securing a commitment to purchase.
- Engage customer to involve their network of contemporaries and ultimately, the municipality or department.
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer pain points.
Education and Experience:
- Experienced in Microsoft Office programs – Required; Working knowledge of Salesforce & NetSuite – Desired. Working Knowledge of GSA – Desired.
- Experience with prospecting, cold calling, customer outreach via phone and email, utilizing CRMs, etc – Required; Contract Administration experience – Desired.
- Strong communication and documentation skills - Required
- Experience in developing, maintaining, and growing business relationships and sales - Required.
- Ability to work within a fast paced / high performance environment - Required
- Valid Driver’s License - Required
- Strong understanding of public safety markets - Desired.
- Administration process of Grants, Grant writing, Grant administration - Desired.

Pay: $55,359.00 - $67,872.00 per year
