What are the responsibilities and job description for the Telemetry Technician position at Highcrest Hospital of Overland Park?
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Telemetry Technician will identify and interpret cardiac rhythms, notify appropriate nurse in the event of changes in cardiac rhythms, document daily interpretation of cardiac rhythms, and utilize thorough knowledge of monitor system operation to assist in proper care of patients.
.QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience of at least one year in Cardiac Monitoring
- Certification of approved arrhythmia course
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Physical:
- Walking – up to 25%
- Standing – up to 25%
- Kneeling – up to 10%
- Sitting – up to 80%
- Pushing – up to 10%
- Bending – up to 25%
- Squatting – up to 10%
- Pulling – up to 10%
- Reaching – up to 35%
- Lifting – up to 30lbs.
- Wrist/Finger Movements – up to 90 %
Mental: Stress Level: Moderate to High
EXPOSURE RISK:
Category II - Jobs in which required tasks normally do not involve exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues but which could result in Category I exposure.
EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, MATERIALS, MACHINES USED:
Telemetry monitor, computer, telephone, pager, copier, printer, facsimile machine.
CERTIFICATIONS:
Arrhythmia Course Certification, BLS Certification
