Overview
Higher Ground is a rainwater management contractor located in Chattanooga, TN. We’ve been in operation for over 10 years and have maintained a great reputation and happy clientele. We are seeking a dedicated Project Lead to join our Drainage and Excavation team. If you have a passion for outdoor work and enjoy being a part of projects that help people, this role is perfect for you. We currently run a very small crew on mostly residential jobs installing custom drainage solutions like French drains, retaining walls, grading and erosion control. We are looking for a project lead who can read work orders, and complete jobs start to finish unsupervised, while efficiently communicating between home owner and office staff throughout the process. Must be comfortable managing a small crew. We operate Monday- Thursday, weather permitting (sometimes work Friday if we are rained out through the week but off Saturday-Sunday).
Responsibilities
-Communicating with customers and office staff
-Maintaining safety at all times
-Giving direction to crew members
-Professionalism as we are working at customers homes
-Working as a team to complete projects in a timely manner
-Having a reliable phone for communication about job locations/scheduling and transportation
-Safely operating a mini excavator, skid steer
-comfortable with truck and trailer can safely load, secure and haul equipment and materials.

-Positive attitude
-Be on time and consistent
-Ability to lift up to 80 pounds
Experience
- Prior experience in drainage, excavation, plumbing, landscaping, operating machines, loading, securing and hauling equipment.
-Specific skills-
dig trenches on grade.
backfill properly to prevent settling.
attention to detail in cleanup/finish of jobs.
assembly of PVC drainage systems
hauling 20' flat trailer up to 10k lbs
hauling and operating 15' dump trailer up to 10k lbs
- Ability to work well in a team environment and follow work orders diligently and be able to manage and give instructions to crew members
- General knowledge of storm water systems and erosion control
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
