Business Development Account Executive – Water Reuse & Environmental Toxicology

We develop innovative products and services that help protect human and environmental health with applications in water reuse, environmental toxicology, and academic/governmental environmental research.
We are seeking a Business Development Account Executive to expand INDIGO’s presence in the rapidly growing Water Reuse and Environmental Toxicology markets. This role offers the opportunity to build strong relationships with key stakeholders at water utilities, regulatory authorities, analytical laboratories, governmental agencies, and academic institutions by explaining how bioassays can enhance their water quality monitoring programs.
As the Business Development Account Executive, you’ll:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for INDIGO’s water reuse and environmental toxicology customers
- Call on new and existing accounts (by email, phone, and in-person) to build and nurture relationships, identify customer needs, provide technical insights, and facilitate orders for INDIGO’s bioassay kits and services
- Participate in the development of sales and marketing strategies that align with INDIGO’s growth objectives for the Water Reuse and Environmental Toxicology markets
- Identify trends, emerging opportunities, and regulatory developments that impact the Water Reuse and Environmental Toxicology markets
- Work closely with INDIGO’s Marketing and Science Teams to develop educational materials, presentations, and product offerings that align with industry demands
- Represent INDIGO at conferences, trade shows, and industry events to strengthen our visibility and build new business opportunities
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions in CRM systems and provide regular updates on market trends and business performance
You may be a great fit for this role if you have:
- A bachelor’s degree in Business, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in B2B sales, business development, or account management in the Water Reuse, Environmental Toxicology, or related markets
- Established contacts within the Water Reuse, Environmental Toxicology, or related markets
- A strong understanding of environmental regulations (e.g., SDWA, UCMR, TSCA) and their impact on water quality monitoring programs.
- The ability to effectively communicate scientific and technical concepts to a diverse audience.
- A willingness to travel up to 50% for client visits, trade shows/conferences, etc.
