What are the responsibilities and job description for the Government Compliance Manager position at Higher Recruitment, Inc.?
Our client is looking to add a Government Compliance Manager to their team based in the Kansas City Metropolitan area. This individual will:
- Develop and implement comprehensive compliance programs to ensure adherence to government regulations, including but not limited to:
-Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
-Davis-Bacon Act
-Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations
-Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) requirements
-Affirmative Action Programs (AAP)
-Other relevant laws and regulations governing government contracts/construction projects.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to evaluate compliance with contractual requirements, regulatory standards, and company policies.
- Collaborate with project teams, legal counsel, and other stakeholders to interpret and apply regulatory requirements to specific projects and contracts.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for government agencies and regulatory bodies, ensuring timely and accurate reporting and communication.
- Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on compliance obligations, ethical standards, and best practices.
- Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and industry trends, proactively identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Investigate complaints, allegations, or incidents of non-compliance, leading thorough investigations and implementing appropriate corrective and preventive measures.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to compliance activities, audits, and corrective actions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, Construction Management, or a related field
- 5 years of experience in compliance management, preferably in the construction industry or government contracting
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to government contracts, construction projects, labor laws, and workplace safety
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory agencies
- Proven experience in developing and implementing compliance programs, conducting audits, and delivering training sessions
- Detail-oriented with a high level of integrity and ethical standards
