Production Planning Coordinator
The Production Planning Coordinator is a key role in a manufacturing setting who will be responsible for the organization of components, parts, vendor management, production materials planning, training, documentation responsibilities, and identifying any areas for process improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all Health, Safety &Environmental requirements that are defined within set work instructions
- People PE and Uniforms: Manage the distribution and availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and uniforms for shop floor personnel, ensuring they have the necessary safety gear and attire
- Production Planning: Collaborate with production managers to assist in creating and updating production plans. Ensure that schedules are optimized to meet daily production goals
- Inventory Management: Guarantee that all required materials, components, and equipment are readily available in the right quantities to support full-capacity production
- Data Integrity: Work closely with the Quality department to maintain the integrity of data collection processes during production. Ensure records are accurately maintained
- Key Metrics Support: Assist production teams in acquiring the necessary tools and resources to record and track key performance metrics
- KPI Reporting: Prepare and deliver monthly reports on Key Performance Indicators (KPls) to management, highlighting trends, achievements, and areas for improvement
- Daily Production Reporting: Provide daily reports on production goals, accomplishments, and any discrepancies to relevant stakeholders
- Procedure Implementation: Support the implementation and updating of shop floor procedures to streamline operations and enhance efficiency
- Training Records: Assist in collecting and maintaining training records for shop floor personnel and identify training needs
- 5S and Organization: Play a role in maintaining the 5S principles on the shop floor, keeping it organized, well-labeled, and ensuring spare parts are adequately accounted for
- Interdepartmental Communication: Ensure clear and timely communication between the shop floor and other departments, fostering effective collaboration
- Positive Attitude: Maintain a positive and relentless attitude in the face of challenges and changes, inspiring a motivated and productive work environment
- Flexibility: Be prepared to step in and support the shop floor in various production positions as needed, especially during peak periods or absences
- Monthly 5S Audits: Conduct monthly audits to assess and improve 5S compliance on the shop floor
- Compliance: Assures compliance with federal, state, local and corporate policies, regulations and laws
- Reporting: Ability to generate reports as required about production output targets and make it visible on communication channels across the company
- Adheres to all Health, Safety &Environmental requirements that are defined within set work instructions Perform other related duties, special projects or assignments as required
Requirements:
- Education: HS Diploma; Preferred: Associate’s degree
- Experience: Prior experience in an administrative role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with production planning and inventory management
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures
- Ability to adapt and respond to changing production needs
- Enthusiasm for promoting a culture of continuous improvement
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask and ability to thrive working under pressure
- Demonstrate a high level of self-initiative and resourcefulness
