What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paraprofessional - Afterschool Program-Jackson position at Highfields Inc?
East Jackson Elementary School, Jackson, MI -working with students in grades 3-5
Hunt Elementary School, Jackson, MI - working with students in grades 3-5
Townsend Elementary School, Vandercook Lake, MI - working with students in grades 3-6
Program runs Monday through Thursday, working 2.5 hours per day. (You would work whichever days work best for your schedule)
Minimum Qualifications / Experience:
· High school diploma/GED.
· Demonstrated knowledge of youth.
· At least 2 years experience working with youth in a structured program setting.
· Shall be a person of good character who possesses the health, emotional stability, maturity and strength to carry out assigned duties.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
· Engage and assist students during academic enrichment activities.
· Assist youth with homework and provide support for individualized tutoring.
· Manage students in a safe and productive way.
· Conduct yourself in a manner to serve as a mentor and role model.
· Cultivates positive relationships with students, families, and fellow staff.
· Attends all mandatory meetings and completes all paperwork as required.
· Participates in 18 hours of professional development per year that meets licensing requirements.
· Performs duties in a manner that ensures compliance with Child Day Care Licensing rules and regulations.
· Ensures program operates in a way that follows industry quality standards and in accordance with the grant.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
