We are seeking a skilled and committed Surgical Assistant to join our team and assist us in delivering exceptional care to our patients.
The general purpose of this role is to assist the Oral & Maxillofacial surgeon in various clinical procedures including, but not limited to; surgical extractions, implants, orthognathic procedures, & biopsies.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Acquire high quality x-ray imaging of the patient's maxilla, mandible, & facial structures.
- Accurately review, confirm, & record patient health information.
- Communicate patient treatment plan nuances to treatment coordinator to ensure accuracy.
- Record patient vital information during evaluations & during surgical procedures.
- Adhere to office confidentiality policies including patient, practice, & employee information. HIPAA Compliant.
- Perform surgical duties including, but not limited to suctioning, instrument handling, airway management, & patient communication.
- Assist in the recovery of patients following surgical procedures.
- Assist in transferring patients to and from the surgical chair, into the recovery area, and into their vehicle.
