This position is responsible for market growth in Highland’s TN geography (home base in Knoxville) by working with our Distributor Partners to execute our Annual Business Plan.
This position will be tasked to achieve volume and distribution goals by delivering against assigned metrics including ad display execution, thematic promotions, and in-market partnerships and special events.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Develops and maintains relationships with key retailers in assigned areas
- Develops and maintains relationships with distributor management and personnel
- Grows volume and profitability in assigned geography
- Provides a direct line of communication to the brewery
- Provides detailed written communication following market visits
- Executes beer tastings, special events, and festivals
- Educates wait staff and customers about Highland products
- Manages the sale and inventory of Highland-branded merchandise at special events and festivals
- Ability to periodically work nights and weekends may be required
- Provides detailed follow up for all in-market activities including ad display execution, Distributor work-withs, channel focus, pricing surveys, quality audits, and promotions/special events
- Composure, flexibility, and adaptability are keys to excelling in a fast, challenging, and fun environment

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience:
- At least two years of related experience required.
- Sales, Hospitality, or related experience is a plus
Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Microsoft Office
- Ability to multi-task, attention to detail, and a driving passion for independent craft beer
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Organized, extreme attention-to-detail
- Working knowledge of major beer styles, including origins and flavor profiles
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
Travel:
- Willingness to travel overnight is required (30-40%)
Other Requirements:
- Must be 21
- Must have valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation
- Must pass a Background check
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
