ACCOUNTING COORDINATOR
JOB SUMMARY:
The accounting coordinator position is responsible for providing information, primarily financial in nature, about all company activities that will assist management, its Board of Directors, and other users in making educated economic decisions about the current and future health of the Hospital. The accounting manager also provides necessary financial information to and coordinate the annual audit, tax return preparation, etc. This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Preparation and monitor of budget with fiscal integrity for a given year consistent with Company mission and goals. Communicate with Department Managers on budget line items and assist Department Mangers to achieve budget goals.
- Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget and collaborates with department heads on means of improving trends as well as recommend benchmarks for measuring department specific financial performance.
- Preparation of monthly financial reports in accordance with GAAP standards, ensuring accuracy in trends and costing across all departments.
- Manage accounting and financial systems, oversee daily operations of finance department and staff and maintain full and accurate accounting records.
- Assist with the year-end financial statement audit and other financial related audits.
- Assist with compilations of cost reports, 990 tax returns, other annual reports and disclosures.
- Maintains the financial records in compliance with local, state and federal regulatory reporting requirements as well as all GAAP standards.
- Establish and implement short and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures
- Protects assets by directing internal financial audits, monitoring and enforcing internal controls that verify the integrity of all financial related systems, processes and data, and enhance the company's value.
- Respond to CFO as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate his/her financial needs.
- Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
- Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls and checks across all departments
- Participates actively in ensuring that all state and federal rules and regulations are followed as they apply to this position.
- Reviews team processes for efficiencies, quality, and manages implementation of new software.
- Duties require broad conceptual judgment, initiative and ability to deal with complex accounting issues.
- Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner.

Education and Experience:
Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
Two to five years’ experience in accounting, healthcare preferred
Supervisory experience required.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret instructions, documents and follow procedures.
Ability to write routine reports and speak effectively with employees and the public.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables as needed.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or
schedule form.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Have strong analytical skills with ability to manage complex budgets, cost accounting, and financial information. Working knowledge of DOS based software and applications such as CMHC, Word, Excel, Keynote, Peachtree, Geneva Accounting and/or other Accounting Software, and other applications.
