Roofing Foreman/Lead (Emulsion, polyester and acrylic coating)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Foreman is responsible of ensuring the productivity of daily operations at job sites to meet the standards of Highland Roofing and our customers. Provides leadership to the crew, collaborates with the management team to help determine hiring needs, manages deadlines for specific tasks or jobs, and enforces safety protocols on the job site. Perform both supervisory and management functions and also engages in the same roofing trade work as the workers they supervise. Provide timely and quality installation of all assigned Roofing projects in the field.

COMPENSATION:

$27 - $35 per hour depending on experience

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee and ensure that all safety rules are being always followed at all work sites
• Coordinate daily tasks according to priorities and plans, adjusting as necessary due to weather, supply delivery, and personnel
• Ability to delegate responsibilities and individual projects to the crew and contractors
• Emphasis on the safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment including training on safety gear, helmets, and procedures
• Oversee quality standards on all sites
• Resolve conflicts or miscommunication that may happen on-site quickly and amicably
• Report project status to Superintendent and Operation Manager regularly

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or certification in a skilled trade (electrician, carpenter, etc.)
• 2 years of experience as roofing foreman required
• Must have experience in the application of emulsion, polyester, and acrylic coating systems.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Extensive knowledge of construction best practices, equipment maintenance and use, and OSHA guidelines
• Understanding of the use and maintenance of electrical and hydraulic systems
• Ability to identify specific types of roofing materials and implement proper installation and repair methods.

• Ability to use all hand tools associated with roofing installation including simple hand tools and specific roofing related tools.

• Excellent organizational and leadership skills

• Ability to communicate and report effectively

• Aptitude in math and strong problem-solving abilities

  Ability to identify safety hazards on project sites and take corrective measures to eliminate or reduce risks associated with those hazards.

  Ability to communicate effectively both in written and oral communications with crew members and residential department. The ability to listen is a critical aspect of communications.

• Good physical condition and stamina
• Ability to lift 20-25 pounds at a time
• Valid driver’s license
• Fluency in English; Spanish a plus

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Regularly wear gloves, hard hats, safety goggles, or earplugs, depending on the job
• Are sometimes exposed to very hot or very cold temperatures when working outdoors
• Able to lift 20-25 pounds
• Climb a ladder safely
• Usually work close to others, typically within a few feet

Monday-Friday, 5:00 AM – 2:00 PM and subject to change based on workload
