SUMMARY The Associate Dean of Recruitment and Retention is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive, action-oriented recruitment strategies and tactics that will position Highland Community College as the destination of choice for a high-quality education. The Associate Dean works collaboratively with senior leadership, faculty, and staff. This position will be located on the Highland Campus in Highland, KS.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Develops long-term recruitment and retention strategies and implements them to ensure each class is filled with and retains qualified students who will successfully matriculate from the College.
- Interacts personally and energetically with schools, businesses, agencies, government, and other constituencies within the College’s service area to stimulate interest in and attract students to the College.
- Maintains and utilizes CRM technology to nurture and manage potential student relations.
- Identifies emerging and new markets for prospective recruiting and changing trends in student recruitment.
- Coordinates with the Director of Marketing for the production and dissemination of printed materials and other media messages intended to market the College and promote recruitment; cooperates with other offices and functions of the College on issues relating to enrollment management.
- Utilizes predictive analytics to provide enrollment forecasting and provides market insight to drive strategic decisions. Monitors local, state, national, and international enrollment trends.
- Supervises and assists staff in managing the conduct and resources of the admissions operations for its maximal recruitment and processing of new students.
- Works collaboratively with individuals such as the Registrar and Director of Athletics to ensure the timely recruitment of all students.
- Develops programs and services to foster success of “early alert,” first generation, and other students with barriers to educational success.
- Manages Highland Community College’s EdSights chatbot and follow up with student concerns.

Education and/or Experience
The Associate Dean of Recruitment and Retention should have a minimum of a master's degree and three years experience in college administration and/or teaching or an equivalent combination of training experience. Director experience and experience with vocational and academic transfer education, program marketing, recruitment and retention of students, and/or supervisory experience are desired. A high degree of computer literacy is preferred. The Associate Dean should have an administrative style that is compatible with participatory management.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Must have excellent interpersonal, written, and group communication skills. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, students, and the general public. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries and complaints.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Other
Must possess a valid driver's license and have a good driving record with no major infractions in the last five years. Must be willing to travel and work evenings and weekends when the need arises. Should have a high degree of enthusiasm and energy.
Salary : $65,000 - $70,000
