Manufacturing Mentor/Coach (Grant Funded)
Highland Community College is seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Mentor/Coach to support student success in the Welding and CNC Machining programs. This position plays a critical role in recruiting students, providing academic guidance, and helping them navigate their educational journey from enrollment to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruit and support students in the Welding and CNC Machining programs.
- Provide students with essential academic information, including registration deadlines, scholarship opportunities, and academic policies.
- Monitor student progress, offer proactive outreach, and connect struggling students with necessary resources.
- Collaborate with various departments, including Admissions, Career Services, Financial Aid, and Student Advising, to enhance student success.
- Develop and maintain relationships with industry partners to arrange work-based learning opportunities.
- Serve as a first point of contact for prospective students and provide program-specific guidance.
- Participate in on-campus and off-campus recruitment activities, including presentations and outreach events.
- Work with Marketing and Community Relations to develop program promotional materials.
- Collect and report data related to student engagement and program effectiveness.
What Were Looking For:
- Bachelors degree in Manufacturing or Education related fields required.
- 3-5 years of experience in related field.
- Applicants with an equivalent combination of education and experience that provide the required knowledge, and skills may also be considered.
- Knowledge of welding and CNC machining and data-driven decision-making.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage projects.
- Skill in database establishment and maintenance.
- Must have a valid drivers license and ability to travel primarily within the Colleges district, occasional travel in the state of Illinois.
- Ability to pass a criminal history background check.
Salary & Benefits:
