Description
The Clinical Instructor is responsible for introducing students to the responsibilities, knowledge, techniques, and skills that are necessary for the successful and safe practice of nursing and successful completion of Kansas State Board of Nursing licensure requirements. The Clinical Instructor monitors and evaluates student progress through the clinical course(s) and serves as a role model for them. This position would teach in Northeast Kansas and Northwest Missouri hospitals.
Clinical site locations vary: Atchison, Hiawatha, Holton, Topeka and St. Joseph.
1. Teach clinical skills effectively using current sources.
2. Provide students with a professional role model.
3. Contribute to clinical course evaluations and revisions as needed.
4. Maintain accurate and timely records of student clinical performance.
5. Build and maintain good working relationships with clinical sites.
6. Maintain nursing credentials in accordance with the Kansas Nurse Practice Act.
Qualifications
- Master of Science preferred for RN students or BSN with degree plan.
- Bachelor of Science preferred for LPN students or ADN with degree plan.
- Current Kansas R.N. license required.
- Current working knowledge of clinical procedures and documentation necessary.
