STUDENT INFORMATION SPECIALIST
Highland Community College seeks a Student Information Specialist to join our Student Services team. This full-time position plays a vital role in guiding prospective and current students through the enrollment process while providing exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate with students and prospective students about the enrollment process through verbal and written interactions. Refer students to Financial Aid, Advising, Student Success Center, Career Services, and other College departments as needed, and provide proactive follow-up on inquiries.
- Perform data entry, maintain accurate student records, and generate reports.
- Track communications with prospective students, manage cases effectively, and respond to students with good judgment and decision-making skills.
- Coordinate services and collaborate with advisors, specialists, and other departments to meet student needs.
- Assist with planning and execution of special events, such as Counselors Luncheons, Experience Highland days, and graduation ceremonies.
- Monitor transcript requests through the National Student Clearinghouse and ensure efficient processing.
- May lead training sessions for specialized areas for other Student Information Specialists and Advisors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What Were Looking For:
- Education and Experience:
- Associates degree and two (2) years of customer service experience OR a combination of education and work experience related to higher education enrollment processes.
- Experience working in higher education enrollment services is preferred.
- Skills and Knowledge:
- Must be able to learn and utilize new processes and technology.
- Ability to work with a diverse population of students.
- Effective communication, listening, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
