Legal Counsel Position:
We are seeking an experienced attorney to serve as our Part-Time County Attorney. As a key member of our team, you will provide legal guidance and advice to the County Board of Supervisors, ensuring that our laws and policies are enforced effectively.
Key Duties:
- Provide legal counsel to the County Board of Supervisors on various matters.
- Represent the County in court proceedings, including General District Court, Circuit Court, the Virginia Court of Appeals, and the Virginia Supreme Court.
- Negotiate contracts, leases, and other agreements on behalf of the County.
- Collect delinquent fees and take legal action when necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Board of Supervisors.
Requirements:
- VALID VIRGINIA BAR LICENSE.
- MINIMUM FIVE (5) YEARS OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT LAW EXPERIENCE.
- EXCELLENT WRITING AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS.
- ABILTY TO COMMUNICATE LEGAL ISSUES CLEARLY.
