Position Summary:
The Clinical Informatics Specialist will bridge the gap between clinical practice and information technology, optimizing healthcare delivery through the implementation and management of clinical information systems, data analytics, and evidence-based practices. This role is essential in ensuring that clinical teams are equipped with the tools and resources necessary to deliver high-quality patient care while maintaining regulatory compliance and promoting efficiency.
Major Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the implementation, optimization, and management of electronic health records (EHR) systems and other clinical information systems across the organization.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, IT teams, and other stakeholders to ensure effective integration of technology into clinical workflows.
- Analyze clinical data to support decision-making, improve patient outcomes, and streamline processes.
- Provide training and support to clinical staff on the use of information systems and technology tools.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and other relevant standards.
- Monitor the performance and usability of clinical systems, identify areas for improvement, and make recommendations for system enhancements.
- Work with data analysts and clinicians to extract, analyze, and interpret clinical data for quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in the development of clinical informatics policies and procedures.
- Act as a liaison between the IT department and clinical teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in clinical informatics.
- Responsible for abiding by and adhering to all HDH Behavior Based Standards and Corporate Compliance Program initiatives
- Responsible for compliance with HDH safety standards, policies and procedures.

Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program or other applicable healthcare related field. Three years of progressive leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
Competencies:
Maintain the professional standards of the Information Systems department. Have working knowledge of hospital policies and procedures related to Information Systems and Patient Care. Neatly dressed, professional appearance and personality is required. Must maintain good public relations and communications with vendors, physicians, staff and other departments. Generally, establishes own work plan and priorities on a daily basis with given deadlines and established departmental policies and procedures. Must respect the confidential nature of all information.
Physical Demands:
Should be physically and emotionally able to handle irregular hours and stressful situations, with minimal absences. Majority of work is performed in a sitting position. Able to tolerate routine and repetitive tasks. The position requires coordination, corrected vision, hearing, the use of two hands. Must possess the ability to follow oral and written directions. Must possess the ability to work with minimal supervision. The position requires the successful completion of a medical examination after offer of hire has been made. The position requires the employee to be free of all unlawful substances and alcohol
