***Applicants must understand they can/may be called to patient sit 24/7/365 days a year depending on patient/organizational needs for a Patient Sitter.
Major Responsibilities:
- Patient Sitter will function in the capacity of a nursing support person who assists licensed personnel in observing patients who are identified as safety risks.
- Keep patient safe by observing and monitoring patient at all times.
- Reports and communicates observations of changes to physical, mental, or emotional status of patient to nursing staff.
- Functions under the direction, instruction, and supervision of the Registered Nurse who assessed the patient.
- Ensures safety of patient by following HDH sitter policy.
- Responds to the demands of changing acuity in a positive manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High School diploma or GED equivalent or currently enrolled as a student. Must be willing to complete CPI training provided by HDH.
