The Project Finance Analyst will support a team of finance professionals who underwrite, model, negotiate and structure equipment service agreements and financings, including debt, lease, and tax equity financings.
The position requires a proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, constantly collaborating with various internal and external teams to meet transaction deadlines.
The individual would ultimately be responsible for managing day-to-day execution of these transactions and performing project-specific related analysis to optimize asset pricing.
Essential Function : Project Modeling and Underwriting
Own every aspect of the project financial model, including becoming intimately familiar with the potential capital permutations and value leversEvaluate and strengthen project-level underwriting for Highland's electrification-as-a-service offering, understanding and improving key assumptions driving pricing and project returnsAnalyze financial results and communicate performance and pricing impacts internallyManage various tracker and tool updates and dissemination, as neededEssential Function : Cross-Functional Support and Collaboration
Collaborate with Origination, providing transactional support throughout the deal cycleWork closely with Origination, Market Development and Fleet Operations teams to understand, monitor, and improve the various construction, operational, and federal / state grant inputs to the modelPrepare financial analyses to inform decision-making for Origination and Fleet OperationsSupport legal structuring and bankability of agreementsCollaborate across departments within the company and with external advisors to lead project finance diligence and closingsEssential Function : Transaction Support
Support (and eventually lead) various aspects of a project sale and financing, including but not limited to : Due DiligenceDataroom ManagementTerm Sheet and Transaction Document SupportIndependent Engineer ReportsAppraisal / Cost Segregation ReportsInsurance Consultant ReportsProject Closing activitiesSupport deal lead on marketing of project capital structure to financiersSupport transaction team in various approval stage-gate and committee review processesQualifications :
Bachelor's degreeMinimum 2 years in Renewables / Power & Utilities, finance, or capital marketsPrevious project underwriting experience preferredExpert proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel, including experience with financial modelingWork and prior transactional experience in project finance, asset- backed finance, M&A, investment banking, real estate, energy, insurance, private equity or venture capitalUnderstanding of return metrics, including NPV, IRR, MOICBasic knowledge of accounting and financial statementsExcellent quantitative and analytical skillsAbility to present complex information succinctly and efficiently to audiences internal and externalHigh attention to detailStrong problem-solving and organizational skillsExperience managing projects with multiple stakeholders on tight timelinesWhat You Can Expect from Highland :
