JOB TITLE: Training Technician - Work center
JOB CLASSIFICATION: Mental Health Aide 2
REPORTS TO: Project Supervisor
SUMMARY: Training and supervising developmentally disabled adults in a work oriented setting.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Guide the client in the performance of his/her daily productive work schedule.
2. Insure the acceptable quality of the client’s work by observing and inspecting work.
3. Gather and compile information for daily productivity reports.
4. May serve on the Admission & Discharge Committee and provide input to the clients’ annual individual Work Plan (IWP) meeting and other required staffing.
5. May transport goods to and from manufacturing facility.
6. Responsible for the storage and protection of consumer records.
7. Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
1. Knowledge and ability to work with developmentally disabled individuals in a positive, motivational, and humane way.
2. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with clients, staff, etc.
3. Ability to complete daily production reports and incident/accident reports.
4. Ability to physically and orally teach clients how to perform tasks.
5. Ability to read, write and learn to operate devices to record production activity (i.e., scales, calculators, etc.).
6. Ability to organize and monitor daily shipping and receiving of material.
7. Ability to operate a forklift and pallet jack in the loading and off loading of palletized material.
8. Must demonstrate the ability to work well with staff and clients in a polite, respectful and dignified manner.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid Alabama driver’s license
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Must be able to perform CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation). The employee must be able to physically demonstrate that he or she is able to perform CPR including an on-the-ground demonstration of CPR proficiency.
