Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated bilingual 2nd grade Self Contained Elementary School Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for young learners. This role involves teaching a diverse group of students, implementing engaging lesson plans for Math, Science, Social Studies, Science of Reading and ELA, while supporting the academic and social development of each child.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to the diverse needs of students.
- Foster a nurturing classroom environment that encourages student participation and promotes positive behavior.
- Utilize effective classroom management techniques to maintain an orderly learning space.
- Open to on the spot coaching and feedback to continually grow instructional skills.
- Self contained classroom skills to teach all subjects.
- Assess student progress regularly through various methods, including observations, tests, and assignments, and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with parents, colleagues, and educational staff to support student learning and address any challenges they may face.
- Incorporate literacy education strategies into daily activities to enhance students' reading and writing skills.
- Teach subjects such as math and physical education while integrating hands-on learning experiences.
- Stay updated on best practices in education administration and early childhood development to continuously improve teaching effectiveness.
Skills
- Familiarity with NES Instructional expectations.
- Strong understanding of classroom management techniques to create a conducive learning environment.
- Ability to write clear and effective lesson plans that engage students in their learning process.
- Experience or knowledge in working with children on the autism spectrum is a plus.
- Proficiency in early childhood education principles and practices.
- Familiarity with literacy education strategies to support reading and writing development.
- Capability to teach physical education effectively while promoting health and fitness among students.
- Knowledge of math concepts suitable for elementary education levels.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with parents, colleagues, and administration in a private school setting.
