Job Description
Highland Hospital a 261 bed community teaching hospital and affiliate of the University Of Rochester Medical Center is recruiting for experienced Patient Registration Associates to join our Family Maternity Center.
The Family Maternity Center has 10 labor beds, 30 post-partum beds, and a special care nursery, care for higher risk situations and are known for its outstanding care and Rochester’s most newborns each year. Qualified candidates must be able to work full-time, 36 hours per week on a rotating day/evening/night schedule, including every other weekend and 50% of the holidays.
Responsibilities include but are not exclusive to patient reception and assistance, patient registration, chart preparation, patient tracking, support of nursing and patient tech staff. Commitment to customer satisfaction which include: patients, family members, physician offices, hospital departments, surgeons, anesthesiologists, other providers, and nursing staff.
Salary Range:
$17.00 - $22.55 an hour
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Job Requirements
- Experience: High school diploma or GED required. Associate’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years customer service experience required; previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred.
- License/Certification Required: none
- Skills: Medical terminology preferred. Able to utilize computer programs, answer multiple phone lines, operate fax/copier machines, interact with customers in a positive manner, and assemble charts in an orderly designated fashion. Must have good communication skills (both written and verbal), computer skills (HBOC, CIS), be able to multi-task and follow directions, and provide excellent customer service.
