Job Description
- This position is 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 3:00pm-11:30pm. Candidates must be available to work weekends and holidays as required
Inspects, assembles, packages and sterilizes surgical instrument pans, procedural trays, technical equipment, and surgical case carts for the OR. Operates sterilizers, prepares and dispenses sterile items; performs inspection, adjusting, cleaning and general servicing of instruments and equipment for the OR, internal hospital departments and off-site agencies to insure instruments and equipment are operating properly prior to issuing. Can precept and mentor new employees. Maintains accuracy of 99.5% or higher. Maintains productivity 90% or higher.
Salary Range:
$23.53- - $28.94 an hour
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required. Fulfills the educational requirements for completion of a nationally and NYS accredited Central Service Technician certification program (CRCST or CSPDT) or qualifies as a Central Service Tech in NYS (has worked in a Central Service Tech capacity in a healthcare facility for a cumulative period of at least one year, occurring within the four years immediately prior to the effective date of January 1, 2015);
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in Sterile Processing required
- License/Certification: CRCST or CSPDT certification required.
