Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a distinctive and profitable menu that aligns with Highland House’s standards for quality and innovation.
- Lead all kitchen operations with a hands-on approach, ensuring top-notch execution of daily service and private events.
- Maintain rigorous cost control practices to adhere to budget guidelines, efficiently managing resources and scheduling.
- Train and develop kitchen staff, emphasizing continuous improvement, culinary excellence, and personal growth.
- Implement effective staff scheduling, ensuring optimal coverage and service while maintaining labor cost objectives.
- Oversee the procurement of high-quality ingredients, managing supplier relationships and negotiating favorable terms.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, fostering a culture of cleanliness and accountability in the kitchen.
- Collaborate with the Food and Beverage Director and Event Coordinator to flawlessly execute private events that meet the high expectations of our members.
- Utilize technology such as Toast KDS, Fusion Prep, and Restaurant365 to enhance operational efficiency and maintain accurate records.
- Prepare financial reports and forecasts, demonstrating a clear understanding of kitchen financials and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Embodies servant leadership, prioritizing the team’s well-being and professional development.
- Has a minimum of 4 years of executive chef experience in a country club environment, with additional experience in award-winning restaurant kitchens highly desirable.
- Demonstrates creativity and passion for culinary arts, with a portfolio of unique and appealing menus.
- Possesses strong financial acumen with a proven ability to manage budgets, control costs, and improve profitability.
- Is proficient in using industry-standard kitchen technology and software, including Toast KDS, Fusion Prep, Restaurant365, and Microsoft Office or Google Docs/Sheets.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts or related field preferred.
- 4 years of executive chef experience in a country club setting.
- Additional experience in high-caliber, award-winning kitchens strongly preferred.
- Proficient in modern kitchen technology and software applications.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of team development.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Certified in food safety and sanitation protocols.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work long hours on feet, including frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
Salary : $60,000 - $80,000
