Full-Time, Year-Round Café Manager Wanted

Position Overview: This year-round, full-time role offers the unique chance to manage not just a café but also a retail store, while overseeing the growth of our café operations as we expand into catering in 2026. In the summer months, we will utilize our 100-seat Lakeview venue to offer catering meals by reservation only, enhancing our service offerings for the community and guests. Knowledge of health food and an enthusiasm for innovative food options are a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the café, including food preparation, inventory management, and quality control.
- Manage staff recruitment, training, and supervision to ensure a smooth, positive work environment.
- Develop weekly schedules for staff and ensure efficient service during peak and off-peak hours.
- Prepare financial, sales, and budget reports, including managing food costs and inventory.
- Work hands-on with kitchen equipment like grills, espresso machines, waffle makers, and mixers to maintain high-quality food and drink standards.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines, including the ServSafe Manager Certification or equivalent, which can be obtained upon hiring.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and positive work environment, motivating and leading a dedicated team to success.
- Assist with catering operations for Saturday evenings and Sunday mornings during the summer months.
What We’re Looking For:
- Prior food service management experience, including overseeing budgets, food costs, and staff management.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to recruit, train, and manage a team.
- Experience with food preparation and handling kitchen equipment, as well as cash register operations.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude, even in stressful situations.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods, walk, bend, stretch, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to work weekends and morning shifts as part of a five-day workweek.
Qualifications:
- Prior food service management experience is a must.
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- ServSafe Manager Certification or equivalent (or willingness to obtain).
- Passion for creating an exceptional customer experience.
