Apartment Caretaker / Grounds Keeper : Edina Highland Villa
Position : Full-time, 40 hours per week.
Hourly Rate : Starting at $17 per hour
Highland Management Group, Inc. is seeking a full-time Caretaker to be part of our team at Edina Highland Villa in Edina.
Living on-site is not a requirement for this position, but employees who do choose to live on-site will receive a higher rent discount!
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Daily cleaning of the common areas.
- Clean garages, mechanical rooms, and storage areas.
- Replace burned-out bulbs and wash out fixtures.
- Have a working knowledge of water and gas meter shut offs, all apartment fixtures, shut-off locations and sewer clean-outs.
- Clean and detail apartments.
- Assure cleanliness of vacant units.
- Notify the manager of needed cleaning supplies & equipment.
- Maintain exterior appearance including flower bed maintenance, weed control, trash pick-up, etc.
- Walk the grounds daily and keep property free of debris & litter. This includes trash enclosures and fences.
- Remove snow from walks, steps, entries, trash areas and mailboxes with a snow shovel or blower. This includes access areas to streets and driveways.
- Monitor and treat, with sand or chemical "ice melt", icy conditions and removing ice from walkways.
- Water grass as needed, and spot seed as assigned.
- Rake leaves and lawns, as needed and as directed.
- Inspect trees and landscaping and make recommendations for trimming removal, replacement, and planting new materials.
- Replaced burnt out bulbs in outside and common area fixtures.
- Make sure that work done by service providers is done regularly including garbage collection and snow plowing. Notify supervisor if work is not done as scheduled.
- Meet trucks for ice melt deliveries during the snow months. Meet contractors as requested.
- Assist maintenance with two person jobs as needed.
- Conduct regular inspections of playgrounds and common areas and ensure that equipment is safe and in working order.
- Other miscellaneous tasks as requested by Management
