What are the responsibilities and job description for the HPUMC Day School On-call Sub position at HIGHLAND PARK METHODIST CHURCH?
General Purpose/Summary: The Day School is a great place to work with children! This position is
responsible for guiding and caring for our young friends in our all-day, early childhood education
program.
Working Hours: This is an on-call substitute teacher position. The hours vary according to substitute coverage needs. May work up to 40 hours per week. Possible shifts include (with a one hour break) 7:30-4:30, 8:00-5:00, 8:30-5:30, and 9:00-6:00.
Qualifications: We require a committed Christian who is comfortable working in a United Methodist Church, with the following qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma is required. Early Childhood Education coursework or Child Development Associate (CDA) credential preferred.
Additional Requirements:
· Experience working in an early childhood program required.
· CPR and First Aid Certifications (can be completed while employed).
· Demonstrated skill in working with children, planning developmentally appropriate lessons, guiding children, interacting positively with children, parents and co-workers.
· Commitment to continuing professional education.
· Clear criminal background check and drug screening.
