Job Summary: The Residential Care Technician assists with daily living activities in a voluntary residential recovery facility for men, located in Pickens County.
Highland Rivers is currently seeking a night shift Residential Care Technician!
Shifts:
- 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm
- 9:00 pm to 7:00 am

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Observes and monitors client’s behavior and charts observations and incidents.
- Assist in training of basic personal and social skills, simple academics, or work skills.
- Provide guidance, motivation and encouragement needed to promote recovery.
- Oversee self-administering of medication.
- Assist in obtaining GED's, resume building, job placement and may transport consumers to and from part time jobs.
- Serve as mentors and assist in group and outing activities.
- Assisting in knowledge of substance misuse and of problems encountered by chemically dependent individuals; basic understanding of behavior management.
- Assist with daily living activities for residents.
- Provides training on basic social skills, simple academics or work skills to individuals.
- May assist with meal preparation, ensuring or encouraging client group activity.
- May provide transportation.
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Gender specific program requires male staff.
- Ability to deal effectively with conflict situations, manages aggressive behavior, and use non-violent crisis intervention and behavioral management techniques.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- At least one year’s experience working in mental health or substance use disorder field preferred.
- Bilingual abilities a plus
