Cart Barn and Range Attendant
Department/Division: Golf/Pro Shop
Reports To: Director of Golf and Golf Professionals
Supervises Directly:
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Purpose for the Position:
To assist members and guests with their golf supply needs; ensure golf carts are clean and ready for use with golf bags in tow; ensure water and sand buckets are filled; clean golf clubs prior to storage; place golf balls on driving range and putting green.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Sets us driving range ensuring it is neat, clean, and ready for use.
2. Ensures golf carts are neat, clean, and fully charged. Each cart must be clean and supplied appropriately with pencils, scorecards, tees, and sand buckets.
3. Pull the golf carts out of the Cart Barn and stage in two rows of four.
4. Check tee sheets and pull member bags from storage at least 30 minutes prior to tee time. Load on golf cart.
5. Move hitting area ropes daily.
6. Set up bag racks, chairs, and golf balls at the driving range daily.
7. Place range buckets of golf balls at chipping green daily.
8. Clean chipping green and driving range tee area. Check the range and hitting area every 15-30 minutes depending on activity.
9. As required, pick up golf balls on driving range and along hole #1.
10. Refresh water buckets every morning; ensure they remain full throughout the day.
11. Fill coolers on hole #7 and #15 with cups, ice and fresh water.
12. Clean members’ clubs prior to placing them in storage; ensure the clubs are stored in the proper bin location.
Skills and Abilities:
· Exercise excellent communication, presentation, organization and listening skills.
· Operate with a high level of autonomy.
· Proficient knowledge of rules of golf, etiquette, and methods of play is a plus.
· Interact with all levels of customers and club management.
· Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
Physical Demands:
Ability to exert up to 25-100 pounds of force occasionally
Ability to frequently lift 10-50 lbs., carry, push, pull, lift or otherwise move objects
Ability to frequently stand for extended periods of time
Ability to walk, stoop, bend and reach above head frequently
Environmental Conditions:
Inside: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
Outside: Work outdoors in various weather conditions and temperatures.
