Lifeguard
Reports To: Pool Manager
Highland Springs Country Club is a private golf, tennis, and social club designed and operated for the exclusive pleasure and recreation of its members and their guests. Highland Springs is committed to providing premier services and facilities to its members and guests.
We will certify you if you do not have your Lifeguard Certification. You must be able to work all Holidays during the pool season!
Purpose for the Position:
To monitor the swimming pool and surrounding area to maintain safety of members and their guests. To prevent and respond to emergencies.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Open the pool each day and get it ready for members and guests. Close the pool each evening.
2. Maintains constant surveillance of members and guests in the pool area.
3. Acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of members and guests in the event of an emergency.
4. In the event of an emergency, rescues swimmer and provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
5. While on duty, remains alert in lifeguard stand as scheduled.
6. While on duty, gives full attention to pool and deck area.
7. Ensures everyone is properly checked in at entry and ALL GUEST FEES ARE CHARGED!
8. Ensures the pool and deck area is kept clean and safe at all times. Tables are arranged neatly, umbrellas are up, and the furniture is straightened up and clean.
9. While on duty, wears proper lifeguard uniforms at all times.
10. Before opening, places all lifeguard umbrellas in stands, straighten and clean all furniture.
11. Controls towel maintenance. Keeps clean towels at entry. Prevents towels from leaving pool area.
12. After closing, ensure all furniture is straightened up, umbrellas are put away, and pool and deck area are clean.
13. As needed, test and treat the pool with appropriate chemicals.
14. As needed, monitor weather reports closely to ensure safety of members and guests in the pool area.
15. Ensures quality customer service is rendered in meeting member and guest needs and member relations are enhanced to provide an exceptional experience.
16. Knows and complies with all company policies and procedures pertaining to this position and its duties.
17. Takes the initiative to greet member and guests in a friendly and warm manner.
18. Performs other related duties as required.
Education and Qualifications:
CPR and First Aid Certification required
Lifeguard Certification required
Skills and Abilities:
· Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
· Skill in lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
· Knowledge of CPR and emergency medical procedures.
· Learn and apply written and verbal rules and procedures.
· Use reason and judgment in dealing with all kinds of people to provide excellent customer service.
· Keep physically fit.
· Use equipment skillfully.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. frequently
Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
Ability to walk and stand for prolong periods of time, with frequent stooping, bending, and reaching.
Environmental Conditions:
Inside: Dusts, mold, allergens, chemical vapors both organic and inorganic. Requires the use of personal protective
equipment to minimize exposure to hazards.
Outside: Noise and vibration from equipment used to clean off clubhouse surrounds. Ability to work in high temperatures.
Job Type: Seasonal
Pay: From $15.10 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
