Job Overview:
123 Farm is seeking professional and knowledgeable individuals to join our seasonal wine bar team during the Lavender Festival and other farm events. Our wine bar exclusively features wines from wineries that share our commitment to organic farming and soil health, and we aim to educate and share these values with our guests. In addition to wine, our menu may include handcrafted cocktails, beer, and small food appetizers.
Throughout the summer, we may also host special events at the wine bar, such as wine pairing dinners, live music nights, and interactive experiences that create a unique and engaging atmosphere for guests.
Responsibilities:
- Wine, Beer & Cocktail Service: Pour and serve wine, select cocktails, and beer while educating guests on our offerings.
- Customer Engagement: Provide guests with a welcoming experience, answer questions, and share knowledge about our organic and sustainable wines.
- Sales & Recommendations: Help guests select wines based on their preferences and encourage wine purchases.
- Small Food Handling: Prepare and serve simple appetizers as needed.
- Opening & Closing Duties: Set up and break down the wine bar, ensuring smooth operations before and after service.
- Cleanliness & Compliance: Maintain a clean and organized bar, follow all food and alcohol safety regulations, and ensure compliance with health codes.
- Cash Handling & Transactions: Process sales accurately using our POS system.
- Inventory Management: Keep track of wine, beer, and cocktail ingredients, restock when necessary, and report shortages.
Qualifications:
- 21 years old (required)
- RBS Certification (Responsible Beverage Service) required
- Food Handler’s Certification required (or willingness to obtain before starting)
- Prior experience in hospitality, bartending, serving, or wine-related sales is preferred
- Basic knowledge of wine, beer, and cocktails or a strong interest in learning
- Outgoing personality with strong customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs (handling wine cases) and stand for extended periods

Schedule & Compensation:
- Seasonal Position: Begins in May and continues through the summer
- Evening shifts during festival hours (festival hours are 5-10pm)
- May be scheduled for special wine bar events throughout the season
- If it's a good fit, we may extend the position for future festivals
