Job Responsibilities
As a Patient Care Tech PRN, you will be responsible for assisting patients with mobility by regular turning and positioning, dangling, and ambulating patients. You will also assist with use of walkers, crutches, canes, and wheelchairs, and transfer patients to and from other units, departments, or entities.
You will obtain or assist in the collection of specimens for diagnostic or waived tests, ensuring accuracy of all labels and timely transfer of specimen. Additionally, you will assist patients with activities of daily living, such as eating and drinking, bathing, shaving, oral care, grooming, and elimination, changing bed linens as needed.
Other responsibilities include serving as Monitor/Telemetry Tech for the unit as needed, engaging in evidence-based best practices that enhance the patient experience, including SAFETY rounding, communication fundamentals/AIDET, Teach-Back, Narrating Care, etc.
