POSTED ON 1/28/2025
AVAILABLE BEFORE 3/27/2025
Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated team member to foster the social, physical, and intellectual development of children within our facility. This role involves planning, supervising, and implementing engaging programs aligned with the Center?s mission, goals, and philosophy, ensuring a nurturing and stimulating environment for children to thrive.
The instructor will primarily assist in one-teacher classrooms, focusing on children aged two years and up, but may be asked to help with our younger age groups as needed as well. Key responsibilities include supporting daily routines such as facilitating bathroom breaks, assisting with creative activities and crafts, and supervising outdoor play to promote physical activity and social interaction. The ideal candidate will be a positive team player with a passion for early childhood education, committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and enriching environment for all children.

Duties
  • Create a pleasant and secure atmosphere for children by providing love, understanding, and guidance in order to foster building self-esteem.
  • Develop classrooms that are organized but should be highly flexible to meet the needs of each individual child. Teachers should provide a variety of structured and unstructured activities throughout the day.
  • Provide structured activities that are developmentally appropriate alongside child-choice activities (2/3 of the time).
  • Arrange the classrooms to provide maximum safety and comfort.
  • Develop daily routines and a consistent environment in the classroom to help children build confidence in their environment.
  • Integrate art activities as an opportunity to tie in books, field trips, discussion, and events in the classroom.
  • Assist children in completing artwork while encouraging individuality and creativity. Artwork can then be displayed at the children's eye level in the classroom.
  • Read stories in an engaging and enriching way daily.
  • Complete daily care reports on each child through our Brightwheel app.
  • Develop and post monthly themes that will guide activities throughout the month. Share these themes with parents.
  • Coordinate routine care: diapering, feeding, naps, while trying to follow along with the parents scheduling as best that can be done in a group setting.
  • Notify the Center Director or Assistant Director if a child is injured or if a discipline or adjustment problem takes place.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate's degree or higher in early childhood education, social services, or a related field is preferred.
  • Completion of 15 hours of continuing education per year, along with CPR and First Aid certification, is required.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and TB test.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English.

Nice To Haves
  • Experience working with infants to preschool-aged children.
  • Strong ability to interact effectively with children, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to remain calm and understanding in various situations, particularly when addressing children's needs and emotions.
  • Knowledge of techniques for promoting positive behavior and addressing behavioral challenges constructively.
  • Must be outgoing, flexible, and passionate about working with children. The ability to take direction and collaborate with other staff members is essential.
