What are the responsibilities and job description for the Weatherization Technician position at Highlands Energy?
Join our team as a Weatherization Installer! You'll travel with your crew to residential homes, helping to make homes more energy-efficient by installing easy-to-use home upgrades. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete paid training to become certified and keep learning on the job.
- Install energy-efficient upgrades in homes, like changing shower heads, installing light fixtures, replacing doors and windows, and make minor repairs like patching walls, and more.
- Climb ladders, crawl in tight spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Follow safety protocols and keep the work area clean.
- Communicate well with your team and customers, ensuring jobs are done right.
- Be a team player, helping out with any tasks that keep things running smoothly.
- Stay up to date with required training.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- High school diploma or GED certificate (preferred)
- 1 year(s) of building industry carpentry, maintenance, mechanical, and/or Weatherization Specialist training (preferred).
- Previous construction experience (preferred).
- Capable of using hand tools, power tools, and ladders.
- Ability to use basic hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to climb up and down ladders up to 16 feet.
- Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and identify, document and report information.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to drive, walk, climb, crawl, push, pull, reach, sit, stand, climb ladders, and work with various tools and equipment. Must be able to operate a pallet jack. Can listen, understand, and communicate in writing and verbally. The employee will frequently be required to lift objects up to 50 pounds.
