Technician 1 pays up to $26.12
Technician 2 pays up to $30.24
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Technician 1
- Complies with established safety policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure the safety of self, co-workers, community residents, and visitors.
- Provide quality internal and external customer service, through the development of relationships with staff, contractors, community members and various organizations.
- Proactively work to support quality service delivery to community by acting on all observed opportunities for repair, maintenance, and improved service delivery.
- Perform weekly inspections of building facilities and playgrounds.
- Perform monthly electrical inspections, minor repairs and work with outside electrical contractors when needed.
- Coordinate the installation of Holiday lights with an outside contractor annually.
- Assist with the training and / or supervision of subordinate employees.
- Operate tractors, skid steer loaders, welders, small trucks, aerial boom trucks, and all hand and power tools.
- Work with facilities staff on large and small projects, repairs, and special project requests.
- Work with Mansion staff on maintenance requests.
- Maintain lighting and install new Veterans tiles at the Veterans Monument.
- Work closely with the Facilities Supervisor and lead Technician to establish and maintain a quality fence maintenance program.
- Perform required maintenance to district-owned fences and assist with the fence replacement program as needed.
- Assist with vandalism repairs and graffiti removal that may occur on District property.
- Coordinate the annual energizing and winterization of plumbed restrooms / concession areas and drinking fountains.
- Perform general repairs of the park’s facilities and service center buildings.
- Complete work orders using facilities maintenance request forms and Asset Essentials work order and asset management system.
- Contribute to the snow removal program and adjust schedule using flextime. This may include weekend and nighttime hours operating snow removal equipment.
- Assist in setting up and taking down special event equipment from various parks, recreation programs, and community events.
- Respect District property, including tools, vehicles, and equipment.
- Open and close, lock and unlock facilities as needed.
Technician 2 (In addition to the above)
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Works under the general supervision of the Facilities Supervisor. Receives directions from Technician 3 on projects and tasks assigned.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Technician 1 : May supervise seasonal employees on specific projects and tasks as required and assigned.
Technician 2 : May supervise Facilities Technician I and temporary employees on projects and tasks as required and assigned.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
Tractors, skid steer loaders, welders, small trucks, aerial boom truck, all hand and power tools, carpentry saws and tools, snow removal equipment, pickup trucks, paint sprayer, plumbing equipment, cement mixer, power washer and finishing tools. Computer, telephone, cell phone, calculator, and other related office equipment. Computer programs, including asset inventory and work order management software, Microsoft Office suite, and Excel.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions and near moving mechanical parts. The employee frequently works in high, precarious places and is exposed to icy, snowy, wet and humid conditions, extreme heat and cold weather, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, loud construction noise, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock.
WORK SCHEDULE
Generally, this position works between the hours of 6 : 30 a.m. and 3 : 00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The work schedule will vary depending on weather conditions, projects, events, programs, meetings, and staffing levels and will include some evening, early morning, weekend, and overtime hours.
This position is part of the Metro District’s on-call / weekend schedule for snow removal. This position is required to be on-call and work nights and weekends as scheduled by the snow removal leader.
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
