Licensed Practical Nurse
The job of Licensed Practical Nurse is done for the purpose of providing health care services meeting the individual needs of students; incorporating health care plans directed by physicians; complying with the laws relating to student health, including parental and guardian consent; providing appropriate care for ill, medically fragile and/or injured students; providing health information and serving as a resource to teachers, staff and administrators; and identifying health problems for referral for proper treatment. All of these responsibilities are under the direction of the Director of Health and Social Services or designee.
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team in providing exceptional healthcare services to our students. As an LPN, you will be responsible for assessing student health needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, administering medications, and providing education to students, staff, and parents. You will work closely with our healthcare team to ensure that all students receive high-quality care and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide routine and emergency care to students, including vital sign checks, medication administration, and wound care
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for students with acute and chronic medical conditions
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents regarding student health and wellness
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and other school professionals to ensure comprehensive care
- Document student health information accurately and confidentially
Requirements:
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of Washington
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an LPN in a school or healthcare setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
