- Paraeducator Certificate Program.Pursuant to Chapter 28A.413 RCW and WAC 179 this position is required to complete standards-based training to include the initial completion of 28 hours of training (the Fundamental Course of Study) and an ongoing 70 hours (the General Certificate). The timeline for completion is variable and based upon an employee’s hire date. Hazel Valley Elementary is seeking a Bilingual Paraeducator and Family Support Liaison to join their team!
SUMMARY: This role is part time family liaison and part time a bilingual Spanish speaking para educator. You will work directly with students as well and families towards our family engagement goals. You will have opportunities to participate after hours for additional extra service for family engagement events. The job of paraeducator is done for the purpose of providing support to the instructional program within an assigned classroom with specific responsibility for working with individual and/or small groups of students; monitoring students in the classroom, playground, lunchroom, crossing streets, during loading/unloading buses, etc. and providing clerical support to teachers and staff.
