SUMMARY: The Central Office Specialist is an accomplished teacher who serves in a leadership role at the system level. A specialist provides expert consultation through facilitating collaboration, instructional coaching, and serving as a system leader across a variety of roles. The Central Office Specialist sees their ongoing learning and development as essential to achieve equitable results for all students.
The person hired into this position will work on the Secondary Success College Career Readiness team to support the continued development and implementation of a robust Comprehensive School Counseling Program that is inclusive of High School and Beyond Planning HSBP for middle and high schools. This includes providing professional development and training in related content such as the utilization of the online HSBP platform transitioning to SchooLinks comprehensive school counseling strategies etc. As the main point of contact for Advisory this position will collaborate with other central office departments to support professional development and implementation of best practices including rituals and routines social-emotional learning and academic progress monitoring. Ideal candidates for this role will have secondary School Counseling experience be steeped in SSB5030 and ASCA standards and practices as well as leading and facilitating adult learning. They will be a systems thinker be collaborative have strong communication and organizational skills be data-driven commitment to and have experience integrating student and family voice and applying an anti-racist lens to strategy development.
